Terms of Use

Last Update April 25, 2020

  1. Phish.net is a privately hosted website intended to be a place for discussion of all things Phish and other associated topics. By accessing and using Phish.net, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (ToU). While users are privileged to participate, Phish.net does not endorse and expressly disclaims responsibility and liability for the content posted by users. Furthermore, the website’s administrators (site team) maintain full discretion regarding Phish.net content.
  2. Phish.net establishes these ToU to encourage respectful and appropriate participation by recognizing content that is not permitted. These ToU apply to all user postings, comments and communications on Phish.net, including private messages, and may be changed at any time (last updated 24 January 2019).
  3. A user account may take a screen name or "handle" rather than your real name, but each user can only have one account. Registering multiple accounts by the same user and/or IP address is not permitted, and the accounts will be subject to deletion. Creating a new account after having one closed is not permitted. Sharing of another user’s personal information is not permitted.
  4. All content posted to Phish.net may remain in perpetuity. Do not post content that you may wish to have removed from the website in the future. Users should utilize the moderation tools by giving a thumbs-up to good content or flags to content that violates these ToU. Upvoting content that violates these ToU is not permitted. Posts with an excessive number of flags will be automatically hidden or removed. Furthermore, the moderation tools enable users to ignore others who post disagreeable content.
  5. Posts infringing on the intellectual property rights of others, including the posting of links to access unauthorized copyrighted music or video, particularly Phish's commercial output, including all content from LivePhish.com and the band's albums, is not permitted. If you repeatedly infringe other people’s intellectual property rights, Phish.net may disable your account. However, posting links to band-authorized audience recordings is permitted.
  6. The sale of services or things (including by posting links) that infringe or may infringe the trademarks and copyrights of Phish, Inc., Phish.net, or The Mockingbird Foundation is not permitted. Other commercial content may be removed at the discretion of site team.
  7. Ticket scalping is not permitted. Ticket sales or requests (ISOs) are discouraged on the website. Ticket exchanges should be completed through a commercial service like cashortrade.org or Paypal ("Item or Service" not “Friends and Family”). Phish.net in no way supports or is liable for any ticket exchanges made through contact on the website.
  8. Hate speech and harassment are not permitted in any area of Phish.net. This means users may make no posts disparaging another person for any reason, including race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, ability, etc., as well posts disparaging or threatening site team either specifically or as a group due to moderation actions.
  9. In addition to harassment, site moderation may apply to trolling, prurient, parroting, or otherwise inflammatory, inappropriate, or off-topic content.
  10. Content violating these ToU or deemed objectionable by the site team for any reason may be removed without warning, notification or explanation, and result in the temporary or permanent suspension of the user’s account. Please, don’t be a jerk.
